Ngamba Island is one of the Koome group of Islands located in Lake Victoria. It is heavily forested providing a great habitat to about 49 Orphaned Chimpanzees that were rescued from illegal traders. The Sanctuary offers a safe, caring environment for them to grow and develop. Visiting the Island provides an educative and informative experience as one gets to know the exact quantity of food needed to feed the chimps in a day, their preferred meal types that offer their much needed nourishment, their social behaviour, an opportunity to feed them and to also meet the team. On this 1 Day Ngamba Island Tour, you will wake up as early as 6:00am for breakfast then drive to Entebbe where you will board a boat to the Island for about 1.5 hours. The view of Lake Victoria and the breeze is quite refreshing on the way to the Island. You will be welcomed by the Vibrant team who will take you through a briefing process and history of the Island then usher you to the area where the Chimpanzees are kept.
